ABOUT
The World Monster Truck Racing League (WMTRL) is an independent ranking and record-keeping group that gathers monster truck racing results from around the world and compiles the data into one global standing. This is not a fantasy league: we use real results from real events involving real drivers in our standings.
The WMTRL was founded in late 2003 and began tracking events in January 2004. Since then, the WMTRL has processed nearly 3000 events from around the world and has ranked over 350 drivers. Each year, the Top Ten drivers and Rookie of the Year are recognized with trophies or plaques that are presented in person at events around the country.
Each year, the WMTRL gathers and compiles real monster truck racing results from around the world. We weight each event based on field size and caliber of competition to determine the number of points for each event, and then award points to each driver based on his or her performance. Throughout the year, drivers are ranked based on their total points and average points. The driver with the best combination of these receives the highest rank.

Being an independent, volunteer, fan-based organization, we do not have any bias other than wanting to see monster truck racing receive its due respect and to reward the teams who are serious about competition. We are continually monitoring our methods to make sure that the league is representative of the entire sport, allowing for any driver on any team from any series and country to have a fair chance at winning the World Championship.
In the future, we hope to increase our awareness amongst both fans and drivers so that the WMTRL becomes a staple of conversation in monster truck circles around the country. We take great pride in our accomplishments so far and in providing a fair and accurate points series, and we hope that those participating in the sport will actively compete for the WMTRL championship on a weekly basis.
